The Travelling Cupcake is a cake shop set in the heart of Andover, Hampshire. The business began in 2013, when owner Beverly Botha took on a local market stall to sell her cake creations. At the end of each day, she found that she could sell any leftover stock on online for customers to purchase and have delivered to their homes – giving the Travelling Cupcake its name!
As business began to blossom, Beverly began taking The Travelling Cupcake to more markets and, after growing her brand, took up residence in a pop up store on the high street.
“When the pop-up ended I thought we can either go back to selling at the markets or we could grab the bull by the horns and open up a shop of our own. Which is what we did!” she says.
Finally moving into their own premises, Beverly knew it was important to build a store she would be proud of and that customers would enjoy visiting, and she knew she needed some additional funding to support her plans.
“Working with Worldpay Business Finance has allowed us to be a lot less stressed. It’s helped our business to stay afloat, and given us the finance we need to help us grow whilst easing cash flow issues.”
“As a small business, you can be turning over £100k a year but still have no money in the bank. It can be tight, and that’s where Worldpay Business Finance came in. It was the help we needed to grow.”
After the success of investing in the business, Beverly has now taken a second advance to continue developments, and is soon looking to invest further with Worldpay Business Finance so that she can move The Travelling Cupcake into a larger property.
“Working with Worldpay Business Finance has allowed us to be a lot less stressed. It’s helped our business to stay afloat, and given us the finance we need to help us grow whilst easing cashflow issues. We’d recommend it to anyone!”
